- To develop the school so that the learning results get's better.
- To promote cooperation and dialogue between parents / students / politicians and employees.
- Students are motivated to learn and have good basic skills.
- The individual units are learning organizations. 

Responsibilities:
- Primary training after Opplæringsloven with regulations on 1 - 10 grade.
- Primary school for adults.
- Special education for adults at primary school level.
- SFO.
- Managing loan of school locals 
- Cultural school offer.
- Public Libraries.
