- The service area offers a good health-, social and cultural offer to Gjesdals inhabitants based on the users needs and available resources.

Child care:
Child care service will ensure that children and young people who live in conditions that can damage their health and development receive the necessary help and care at the right time. The child care service will also help children and young people to receive safe adolescence.

Good adolescence:
In Gjesdal we are concerned that children and young people experience safety, well-being, belonging and growth.
We have faith in that the good cooperation between children, parents, citizens and employees in the municipality is essential to create good adolescenceconditions. In the years ahead we will focus more on cooperation and prevention, project Good adolescence.

Social service:
Social service consists of social consultants and a refugee consultant to provide advice, guidance and assistance including in areas such as finance, debt, intoxication, housing, work training and refugees.

Rehabilitation service:
Rehabilitation service consists of physio-/fysio-/ergotherapist, rehabilitation consultant and relief housing. We offer training, stimulation, acquisition of tools, advice, guidance and organization of services for children and young people with functional disabilities and their parents.

Mental health:
The division consists of: contact center, care homes and mental healthworkers that will provide all the various forms of assistance to people with mental illness.

Public health center:
The health station offer school health service, public health center services, midwife service and family team.

Volunteer central:
Volunteer centtral will, in cooperation with organizations, local citizents and the municipality help to develop the voluntary services, so that the living conditions for individuals and groups are improved. As well as encouraging increased participation in the social and cultural community.

Cultural office:
The cultural office should actively encourage and facilitate all-round culturaloffers for all of the municipalitys citizents.
