Public health centre (Helsestasjon 0–5 years)
The public health centre offers free services for children aged 0–5 such as health check-ups and vaccinations. You can also receive:
- Guidance on child development, nutrition and parenting
- Support and advice if you have concerns

Pregnancy and midwife services (Jordmor)
If you are pregnant, you can receive free follow-up from a midwife at the public health centre. Midwives provide check-ups, guidance and support during pregnancy and after birth, including home visits. Contact the health centre to book an appointment.

School health service (Skolehelsetjeneste)
All schools in Gjesdal have a school nurse (helsesykepleier). The school health service:
- Promotes physical and mental health
- Offers regular check-ups and conversations
- Provides support with topics such as well-being, stress, friendships and bullying
Both students and parents/guardians can contact the school nurse. The service is easy-to-access, which means you can get help without needing a formal referral.

Health services for youth (Helsestasjon for ungdom)
Gjesdal offers a free health service for youth (13–20 years). Youth can:
- Talk to a nurse or doctor
- Get advice about physical and mental health
- Receive guidance about relationships, sexuality and well-being
- Get information and access to contraception and testing for sexually transmitted infections
- Receive vaccinations if needed
No appointment is needed.
